One region: list. Two regions: roughly 2x the gateway line on Premium v2 and on Apigee PAYG. Five regions: roughly 5x. Edge-first solutions sidestep this by serving from one global control plane.

When edge-first replaces

Public partner APIs and B2C: Cloudflare or Fastly at the edge is typically cheaper than five-region centralised deployment. Internal regulated workloads: per-region centralised remains the safer answer.
